 In 2006 I was engaged by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service - the Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) to write the text for a series of 10 signs along a self-guiding Fort Walk on the northern end of Bribie Island. 

This is one of the signs.

The walk passes through coastal plant communities that hide heritage-listed remains of gun emplacements and searchlight buildings.

One hundred and fifty men and women lived in Barracks of the North Bribie Island Army Camp from 1941 to 1945.
